Firm’s founder simplifies investments for everyday person

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Josh Morales, a Kansas City native, today announced the formation of an independent financial advisory firm – Nest Financial – based in his hometown.

Morales has seven years of experience in the wealth management industry and holds his Series 66 and his Series 7 securities licenses. Most recently he was affiliated with The Retirement Planning Group in Overland Park, Kansas, and Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. He said he is proud to launch and grow a new firm that serves people he respects in a city in a state he loves.

Morales said the firm will offer the same array of financial services he previously provided and will have access to a broader spectrum of financial technology and tools. “We will continue to provide services including financial planning, wealth management, tax planning and estate planning. We also focus on insurance, saving for education, retirement income strategies and social security,” he added.

Nest Financial’s name is a nod to what Morales does best – growing and protecting wealth safely. “Nest is a reference to a protective structure around the new investor who is learning to fly,” he said, adding that he considers himself “an advocate for those who may not understand the world of investments and need a trusted person to turn to.”

Morales’ firm has a diverse client base, including those who didn’t grow up wealthy and may not understand how a financial portfolio works. “That’s where I transition from a financial advisor to an educator to explain how building wealth works, which is my favorite part of the job,” he said.

Nest Financial was founded on the simple core beliefs that Morales holds dear. Those include listening, learning, simplifying and educating. “My goal is to take the complicated world of investing and simplify it for the everyday person. That’s the men and women new to money – and by that, I mean tradespeople who may be union workers, public service employees or small business owners. We’re here to unpackage the confusion of the markets though transparency and trust,” Morales said.

Nest Financial is partnering with Sowell Management, a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) in North Little Rock, Arkansas, with more than $4 billion in regulatory assets under management/ assets under administration (as of August 2022) and named by Barron’s as one of the country’s Top 100 RIAs in 2020.

“Known as the ‘advisor to financial advisors,’ Sowell is a nationwide leader in the RIA industry and will provide back-office services such as billing, account management and best-in-class technology to Nest Financial. We will have more tools to gather and analyze financial information quickly and additional portfolio and planning offerings through Sowell,” Morales said.

Bill Sowell, CEO of Sowell Management, said Nest Financial “is a firm that shares Sowell’s core principles of honesty and transparency and will be an asset to those looking for a respected firm for solid, reliable financial planning. We are excited to begin building a relationship with them,” Sowell said.

Nest Financial’s team also includes Fidelity Investments, one of the largest custodians of
investment advisory assets. They will provide custodial, operational, practice management and trading support. “Together, we are able to provide clients five-star service, and we are excited to be doing it right here in Kansas City,” Morales said.

Morales, who has his Bachelor’s Degree from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, is a family man who is devoted to his wife and daughters. He is also an active volunteer for The Boy Scouts of America, where he previously worked as a district director, based in Kansas City.

Nest Financial is located in Raytown, Missouri and Morales can be reached at josh.morales@davidr571.sg-host.com, at LinkedIn profile or by calling 816-866-3591.
